Gieves & Hawkes Showroom

Gieves & Hawkes Showroom

With arguably the best address in the world of tailoring, No.1 Savile Row is an elegant eighteenth-century William Kent townhouse and, since 1912 has been the flagship store of Gieves & Hawkes.

Holds a number of Royal Warrants, and provides ready-to-wear as well as bespoke and military tailoring. The company began by designing attire for Britain’s most illustrious officers, including Admiral Lord Nelson and the Duke of Wellington as well as ten generations of British Royalty, from King George III in 1809 to Prince William and Harry today.

Working in partnership with interior designer Teresa Hastings, to deliver a 43-week fit out programme to complement the store’s historic setting, while creating a concept that can be rolled out to be Gieves & Hawkes’ 138 stores worldwide.

The Concept was to translate the historical detailing into a contemporary design that respects the history and context of the original building. Modern Lighting solutions are in a full service of space requirements and tradition. The versatile lighting for different events and scenes via central control system with over 100 circuits was developed for the main hall. Remote controlled downlights at 7m height enables various scenes and focus. Use of tuneable light balance with the outside daylight. Bespoke lighting detailing to each display cabinet, using concealed lighting solutions or magnetic no cable spots lights to suit display changes.
